Help Hawaiʻi Island recover

Hurricane Lala hit Hawaiʻi Island on 15 August 2026. Kaʻū, the district south of Kona, was hit hardest: homes torn off their foundations, flooded schools, roads and farms wrecked. Parts of Kona were hit too. Families there are still rebuilding.

If you want to give, give to Vibrant Hawaiʻi. They are a Hawaiʻi Island charity, based in Hilo, getting food, water, tarps, clean-up gear and chainsaw crews to the people who need them through their network of community hubs across the island. Charity Navigator rates them 4 out of 4 stars. Registered charity, tax ID 85-3693179.

To be clear: Kona Picker has no connection to Vibrant Hawaiʻi. We do not touch the money. The button is a direct link to their own donation page, and we are simply pointing people their way.

Other island funds if you prefer them: the Hawaiʻi Community Foundation’s Stronger Hawaiʻi Fund and Hawaiʻi Island United Way’s community relief fund. This game is free, has no prizes, and asks for nothing for itself.
